AIRWORK Shelters are designed to provide temporary weather protection and portable workspace solutions for contractors, remodelers, restoration professionals, maintenance crews, and other outdoor work applications.

Proper setup, anchoring, operation, and maintenance are essential to achieving safe and reliable performance. Please review the following guidelines before operating your AIRWORK Shelter.


Intended Use

AIRWORK Shelters are intended for:

  • Construction and remodeling projects
  • Residential and commercial maintenance
  • Restoration and remediation work
  • Outdoor fabrication and assembly
  • Material and equipment protection
  • Temporary jobsite workspaces
  • Portable weather-protected work areas

AIRWORK Shelters are designed to provide a temporary enclosed workspace and weather protection for outdoor work activities.


Not Intended For

AIRWORK Shelters are not designed, certified, or intended for:

  • Automotive paint booths
  • Spray-finishing operations
  • Hazardous material containment
  • Confined space applications
  • Fall protection systems
  • Life-safety shelters
  • Emergency occupancy shelters
  • Applications requiring explosion-proof ventilation
  • Applications involving flammable vapors or combustible dust

AIRWORK Shelters are not a substitute for required workplace safety systems, ventilation systems, fire protection systems, or other safety measures required by applicable regulations.


Anchoring Requirements

Proper anchoring is critical to safe shelter operation.

Always secure the shelter using the provided AIRWORK Universal Anchor Kit™, ballast system, or other approved anchoring methods appropriate for site conditions.

Before use:

  • Inspect all anchors, straps, and attachment points
  • Verify anchors are properly installed
  • Ensure ballast systems are fully deployed when required
  • Recheck anchoring throughout extended use

Never operate an unsecured shelter.


Weather Considerations

AIRWORK Shelters are designed to provide protection from normal jobsite weather conditions, including light rain, sun exposure, and moderate environmental conditions.

Users should continuously monitor weather conditions and discontinue use if conditions become unsafe.

Do not operate during:

  • Severe storms
  • Thunderstorms
  • Tornado warnings
  • Extreme weather events
  • High wind conditions beyond safe operating limits

Always follow local weather advisories and jobsite safety procedures.


Ventilation Requirements

Adequate ventilation must be maintained at all times.

When using:

  • Adhesives
  • Sealants
  • Solvents
  • Restoration chemicals
  • Cutting equipment
  • Power tools
  • Dust-generating equipment
  • Temporary heating or cooling equipment

Ensure sufficient airflow is provided through entrances, windows, ventilation ports, or other approved methods.

AIRWORK Climate Control Ports may be used with portable fans, air movers, ventilation systems, or portable air conditioning units to improve airflow and worker comfort.


Electrical Safety

When using the AIRWORK Blower:

  • Connect only to properly grounded power sources
  • Use GFCI-protected outlets when required
  • Inspect power cords before each use
  • Keep electrical connections away from standing water
  • Replace damaged cords immediately

Never operate electrical equipment in unsafe conditions.


Heating & Cooling Equipment

Portable heaters, fans, air movers, and air conditioning equipment should be operated according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Users are responsible for:

  • Maintaining proper clearances
  • Providing adequate ventilation
  • Following all fuel and electrical safety requirements
  • Complying with applicable local codes and regulations

Never place open flames or unapproved heat sources in contact with shelter materials.


Inspection & Maintenance

Before each deployment:

  • Inspect shelter fabric for damage
  • Check seams, attachment points, and zippers
  • Verify blower operation
  • Inspect anchors, straps, and ballast systems
  • Confirm all components are in good working condition

Any damaged components should be repaired or replaced before use.
